More About the Session
Boundaries during
the session
I've found that the best way I can support people to experience their journey is to be available to them without interrupting their process. AT the start of the session I like to sit with you to “get the ball rolling,” so to speak. I will remind you how to navigate the journey, lead a short meditation for grounding and clearing, offer you the medicine and sit with you while you are coming up. I will check in with you when you begin to feel the effects and then I will give you some space to be alone with your experience. From here on, I will be available to you at a moment's notice, as you can get my attention by dinging the singing bowl. During this time I want to be accessible to you rather than being overbearing. In your session, if you feel you need to cry, laugh, talk, or anything, I very much encourage it. I will not come to you to ask if you're ok to need support. Essentially, unless you ask for my support, I will honor your process by allowing you to go through the experience on your own with the peace of mind that if you need me at any time, I am available to you at a moment's notice.
When the effects wear off, I will join you again and offer you some fruits. From here on I encourage you to share and reflect as much as you like on what transpired in the past 6 hours or so. It's a safe container for you to speak honestly and openly knowing that I will not be psychoanalyzing or drawing any conclusions. It's really a time to share and explore creatively.

What you can realistically expect from a heroic dose of psilocybin.
When we consider the first times that one works with high doses of psiloocybin in the context of inner exploration for the purposes of therapy or personal growth, its seems that roughly 70% of people walk away reporting positive and helpful insight 30% is confusing but there is never any reports of enduring adverse psychological destabalisation. Certainly by the second, third and fourth experience, the chances that one will walk away with benefits gows up significantly.
The “heroic dose” of psychedelics, according to Johns Hopkins | Dr. Matthew Johnson
How a ‘heroic dose’ of psychedelics can be therapeutic, explained by a Johns Hopkins professor.
The Session
No matter what your personal intentions may be for your journey, when you begin the session, your task as the journeyer is always the same: explore your inner experience with an equanimous mind and an open attitude. Welcome every experience that naturally comes up for you. Remain open, receptive, engaged, and curious about what is actually transpiring within you on a moment-to-moment basis. Relax completely, but remain alert. Forget about trying to make sense of the experience while it’s happening (we can do that in the coming days); for now, just inhabit your experience at the level of the senses, rather than the intellect, as it naturally unfolds itself to you, from moment to moment, to moment. What seems to be reliably true is that when we have the opportunity to work with the medicine in such a way, we get what we need at the time that we need it, though it’s almost never what we expect!
As a participant, you need to follow the preperation guidelines for at least three days before and after your session. Then, when we meet for the session at around 6pm, we will take about 90 minutes to settle into the space and remind ourselves about our intention for the practice and also how best to navigate the experience while under the influence.
I remind you that I will be with you for the first 90 minutes after you take the medicine and then I will step away. During the entire time, I am available to you when you ring the bell. I want to let you to work with the medicine without interference so the agreement is that no matter what you are going through, I am going to honor you by letting you go through undesturbed. Im not going to come up to you and ask ‘are you ok, do you need some help”. You can feel restassured to know that you are safe to explore this experience with the assurance of safety and if you need anything, literally anything, I am a moments notice away to be able to support and guide you in any way. I have facilitated huindres of sessions and I have never had someone needing serious support from me during the session because the preperations and guidance I give beforehand is the best support I could even give so people never get into any resistance during the session.
Then, we begin the session in silence darkness with a few candles glowing. I will begin the session by clearing you and the space with sage and paolo santo. I will offer you the medicine to drink and guide you in a mindfulness practice to support your entry while the medicine begins to take its effect.
I will offer you some honey and cacao which will support your experience. It will keep you sharo and your heart open.
I encourage you to sip the Ooolong tea during your session. This will also keep you sharp and relaxed.
Get as comfortable as you can. Sit upright or lay down on your back. Do not lay on your side. You need to be relaxed and comfortable as possible but engaged and alert. Breathe deeply. Surrender. Relax and let go. Trust. You are going to be taken to exactly where you need to go. Don’t resist. Stay open. Stay curious. Stay receptive. If you see something scary, don’t run away, turn towards it. The medicine always gives us what we need in our session but never what we expect! Let go of trying to understand your experience while it is happening because we will do that after. Your job is to stay humble, attentive and engaged like a student before the grand master.
I will remain with you for “the come up”, do a final check in with you if you would like to continue in silence or if you would like music in which case I will put headphones on you.
When I step away, you will begin to enter the “peak” of the experience. Whatever is coming up for you, allow it and go with it. If you need to cry, let it flow. If you need to shout, shout into the pillow. If you need to spit then spit and spit and spit. If you need to throw up, do not resist, get up and go to the bathroom and purge! The medicine is going to do its work on you, recalibrate, realign and show you and teach you.
The experience will last for about 4 - 6 hours and then I will sit with you again and we will close with some tea and fruit.
At this point the effects of the medicine have worn off and I encourage you to recount your experience at length. If you feel that its too soon and you want to keep it sacred for the time being, I understand that and its perfectly ok. If you do feel like sharing I very much encourage you to speak at leangth and openly. There is no place for judgment in any of my sessions. No one is going to draw conclusions or psychoanalys you or your experience. This is a very impiortant part of the process to recall all the details, messages, visuals and realizations from your experience.
You will feel tired at this point and you can eirther sleep at the space or reeturn to your private accomodation.
In the days going forward I will encourage yoiu to listen to the voice recording of your trip report and/or journal and draw about your experience as a way to recount and integrate what the medcicine was taking you to.
FAQ
-
Is it safe?Yes, it is completely safe for you to take even heroic doses of psychedelics, provided you have completed the safety profile questionnaire and receive a "Pass". You can complete this questionnaire now by following the link in the safety section above. Receiving a "pass" on this questionnaire assures that you can be 100% positive that you will not be putting yourself in any kind of physical or psychological risk by engaging in this practice with psychedelic substances. In this questionnaire I screen participants by the exact same standards of the psychedelic clinical trials conducted at Jon’s Hopkins, Imperial College London and Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). It is reasonable to estimate that approximately 3,000 participants have been involved in significant psychedelic research trials across these institutions. Since the year 2000 there's been a total number adverse patient reactions to the therapy has been Zero. That basically means that, granted you meet some basic health standards, psychedelics are incredibly safe. Even in high doses.
-
How do I avoid having a “bad” trip? When you do psychedelics in this situation, with a guide there is no such thing as a "bad" trip. There are certainly challenging experiences during the trip but you will be in the best condition to meet them in a way that can bring about a positive transformation. This is only possible if you have prepared for the session properly and received proper guidance as to how to navigate the experience itself. These challenging experiences are most often the most transformative when we meet them with a sense of openess and curiosity. As a guide I will help you before the session to know how to meet these challenging experiences and see them as an opportunity to get serious work work done.
-
I’m scared I'll lose my mind and going crazy. What to do?You can be absolutely sure that this will NOT, and CANNOT happen if you get a “pass” on the safety profile. In this questionnaire I screen participants by the exact same standards of the psychedelic clinical trials conducted at Jon’s Hopkins, Imperial College London and Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). It is reasonable to estimate that approximately 3,000 participants have been involved in significant psychedelic research trials across these institutions in since the year 2000. Of all these participants, there's been a zero rate of serious adverse events reported. zero.
-
I’m scared of losing control during the session. What to do?As a guide I am well equipped to support and guide you through anything that may come up during your session. Having said that, in all the session I have facilitated, I can say it's actually pretty rare that people have extreme reactions to these substances. It seems that the preparations and guidance I offer beforehand goes a ling way to help people really let go and trust the experience so theres minimal resistance.
-
Is it addictive?Psychedelics are, in fact by nature anti-addictive. That's because the experiences they occasion (even ecstatic ones) are so powerful that the last thing one thinks about on the come down is "when can I do that again". It is sort of like child birth in that it is such a powerful and challenging experience that we cannot ever imagine ourselves considering to do it again. But because its so meaningful, sooner or later we do find ourselves considering another go at it. But this kind thinking has nothing to do with addiction or dependancy.
-
What is your philosophy about psychedelics?I personally believe that the psychedelic substance itself (and here I am referring specifically to Psilocybin "Magic" Mushrooms, LSD, DMT, and Rapeh) acts like the key that allows us to unlock the mind and essentially access the depths of ourselves. In some cases, we can completely transcend the limitations of the egoic sense of self to encounter the true "I." This will sound like complete hippie mumbo jumbo to people who have never had this kind of access to themselves. I would like to add that this is not meant to be some kind of party trick. The whole point of this is to free oneself from the self-imposed limitations, limiting belief systems, and stories that may be continuing to unconsciously direct our unskillful ways of thinking, speaking, and acting in our daily life. Unfortunately, most of the pain and messy situations we encounter in our lives are actually self-created in the sense that they originate from the bad programming that is allowed to run on repeat in the depths of our unconscious mind. In the SoulSession, we essentially open up the opportunity to clear out the depths. You are likely navigating at least one challenging situation in your life right now, possibly wrestling with self-doubts, struggling to navigate a transitional period, regrets, worries, relationship conflicts, or all of the above. Although it is extremely prevalent in our modern world, it is actually not the way you or I were meant to experience this life. In fact, most of the messy situations that occur and continue to perpetuate in our lives are unknowingly self-created and are the result of bad programming that we learned mostly during our most formative years, from the birthing process and through our infancy. The messy situations, blockages, limitations, conflicts, and struggles that manifest and perpetuate in our lives have their origins in the faulty psychological programming that is constantly on replay in our vast subconscious. For most of us, these realms of the psyche remain largely unconscious because we had very few means to even access them, let alone clear them out of faulty programs. They remain largely unexplored territory, and unfortunately, if they remain so, they will stay full of clutter and faulty programs. What we need to do is open everything up, air everything out, clear out the detrimental programming, and encourage and build on the good programs. Unfortunately, our culture encourages us to strive to resolve ourselves by external means, but the reverse is often more effective. If we become aware of and clear out the deep psychological complexes that are the motivating forces behind the negative situations that manifest in our daily lives, we can naturally recalibrate and find wholeness and a liberated way of living and dying.
-
What Psychedelic do you use?I personally consider these substances medicine in the truest sense of the word and I prefer to use ones that are naturally grown from mother earth. These days, the "strong" medicines I work with are: Psilocybin "Magic" Mushrooms (Classic psychedelic) Rapeh "Shamanic Snuff" (Psychotropic substance) I also use other "weaker" medicines during my sessions to additionally support my participants in their journey. These are: Raw Ceremonial Cacao Honey Chinese Oolong Tea
-
What’s the dosage? The dosage will depend on your personal intentions for the practice as well as how strong you are feeling on the day of the session. I will advise you that you need to take at least 5 grams of mushrooms in order to have the likelihood of a "breakthrough" psychedelic experience. Anything less than this will likely be an interesting experience but not have the potential for a real inner transformation. Having said that, if you feel that you would prefer to start gently and take a lower dose for your first time, that is completely fine.
-
Where are the sessions Held?SoulSessions are only held in a peaceful and secure setting, indoors. Mushrooms are always done at night time. Rapeh sessions are always done in the day time. I have a space specifically for facilitating sessions in Pai but if you are not able to be here I can travel to facilitate a session for you in the town or city where you are currently residing; either in your private residence or by reserving an Airbnb specifically for the session. Just to clarify, here are your options: Option one: The session is held at my private space that I have created specifically for this purpose. Option two: I can travel to offer the session to you in your private residence for an additional fee. Option three: I can secure in an Airbnb in a secure location specifically for the session.
